Cattle Program

At Deep Creek Land & Livestock we stress functionality in our cattle. Each female has to earn her keep- she must breed in 2 cycles, raise a calf, and breed back accordingly. She also must be sound, big-middled and have some fleshing ability to handle the harsh Wyoming winters and spring storms. We demand high performance from our bulls, in order to cover large pastures and actively breed cows after the A.I. heats. They also must be sound, big-middled, easy fleshing while providing muscle all in a super-functional package.

Custom Embryo Raising

We work with many producers who purchase embryos and do not have the cows or land to put them in. We grow, calve and wean the embryo calves at optimal weights with a strict vaccination protocol and feed protocol for these clients. Our focus is very business-minded, we want our customers to make money on the calves we wean for them. We understand both the commercial and registered sides of the cattle industry, and can adjust our program to suit the needs of our clients. At Deep Creek Land & Livestock we are very competitively priced for providing recip cows for embryo transfer. Our recip cows are kept in excellent condition and we monitor them daily while feeding.

We run a small set of registered Hereford cows to produce registered females and to use the bulls to make F1 females to use as recip cows. Because we have such a small group of Herefords, we have stressed the importance of genetics and are working to have an elite set of registered Herefords to produce high quality show females and bulls that we can use on the commercial and registered programs.

Club Calves

We run around 50 head of registered and commercial club calf cows to product show cattle. In addition to this, we strive to produce high quality club calves for both the spring and fall shows. We flush and elite set of donors and will soon purchase 1 to 2 more donors to increase our ability to product high quality show cattle.[/text_output][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row padding_top=”20px” padding_bottom=”0px” border=”none” no_margin=”true”][vc_column width=”1/1″][/vc_column][/vc_row]
